The Santa Barbara Mission was founded on December 4th, 1786 and was the tenth mission founded overall. This mission is an excellent starting point for our class to learn about the California Missions as it is just a short five to fifteen minute drive away. I encourage you to be explorers during our journey through the history of the California Missions. Seek out interesting facts and stories about these missions on your own and share it with our class.
